Electrolysis is the best method for Zn smelting in order to reach to the highest purity of zinc. The main and the most important factor in the process of Zn smelting is electrowining. Because of the lead pollution and its solubility in the electrolyte, there are always sludge precipitated in the cells and this sludge causes low purity of output and decrease the yield also it can causes short circuit. To solve the mentioned problem for the first step the Pb-Ag anodes were replaced with Pb anodes. The new anodes could increase the yield a little because of their better electrical conductivity and longer life time but the problem of bending anodes and short circuited were not solved. So as the last improvement multi alloy Pb anode was invented and during 10 years it could get the confidence of Zn producer all over the world. This anode have been made by Ag, Ca, Sr, Al and special materials which is the result of long term researches and with the use of improved equipments. This anode has good mechanical abilities, high electrical conductivity and high corrosion resistance. Multi alloy anode is hard enough to solve the bending and short circuited problem and because the pace of Pb solubility is slower ( 0.6Kg/month) so the Zn product will have higher purity about 90% . This anode is used in Zn manufacture companies in china, South America and Africa. In Iran it has been tested and used for 3 years so there are some factories which are using such an anode in Zanjan. Omid Padide Garmar has honor to be the first supplier of multi lead alloy Anodes. This step has caused a great deal in Zinc-producing in Iran. with respect to these plates' long life, after 3 years research and development in this field, the following results has been approved:

  • Because of its severity, it avoids plate-bending in electrolytic process(even in high temperature) and as a result it will avoid short circuited.
  • Increase electrolytic process efficiency from 50%-70% to 90%.
  • It decreases Electrical consumption about 100 KWh per 1 ton zinc.
  • Zinc-production with net purity of 99.995% have been produced.
  • Having 1.5 times longer life time in comparison with Ag anodes(thickness : 7 mm, long life:21 months )
  • Minimize sediment will cause no Closed circuit.
  • Absorbed lead in cathodic protection process is approximately equals ZERO.
  • Decrease in Anode weight(0.6 Kg per month)
  • Extruding-process elimination
  • Elimination of dog-watching over plates, and causing an ease for operators.
